Thanks for visiting Budgeting in the Fun Stuff!
You are reading the musings of a 31-year-old, married, stubborn redhead. While I’ve been blogging, we paid off our first house and moved into our “dream” home. Our first house is now our rental. I became a full time blogger in July 2011 thanks to readers like you!!! My husband joined me at home in January 2012 and it has been an interesting ride on the self-employment train ever since.
I have blogged about personal finance here on a nearly-daily basis since February 2010, and I plan to continue for years to come.
My husband and I live outside of Houston, TX. We were both raised by financially savvy parents who thankfully taught us some of the ins and outs of personal finance early on. Despite a few big mistakes like investing in a friend’s failing business in 2007, our emergency fund and budget help us reach our goals and have a good time too. I see money as a tool that is used to provide for our needs, our future, and the fun stuff in between.
To keep your interest, I’ll update our monthly budget as it changes. I’ll also use real numbers as often as possible in all of my posts because I appreciate transparency and sharing the actual figures helps me stay on top of my goals. If you’d like to see more, feel free to follow BFS via RSS, Email, Twitter, and Facebook.
I have no financial certifications, but I have an abundance of opinions. I hope you do too since a blog is only as fun as the commenters! Honestly, I love to see your opinions and questions, so please comment when the mood strikes!
Thanks again for visiting. I hope you enjoy the site!
