My Coolest Business Cards Ever AND Plasticprinters.com GIVEAWAY!!!

This post may contain affiliate links.

When Sarah from Plasticprinters.com offered me plastic business cards to review and then mentioned a giveaway for my readers, I was hooked.  I have been wanting new business cards to hand out at the Financial Blogger Conference for the last 2 years, but I still have 1000+ of the first ones I had made in 2011.  I’ve been cheap and haven’t tossed away the old ones and splurged yet.

Sarah connected me with a designer, Nate, and I absolutely adore the design they came up with when I explained the info it needed and that I was a colorful person.  Here’s what they made me:

M Business Card Front
The front is just so colorful! Who would have thought that I would just want my face on it?!
My Business Card Back
The back only has the very essential info. I realized that less is way more. I hopefully already made a great impression on the person I hand this card to.  So just having my face, my general job, and a way to contact me is all they will really need when they get home. That’s how I’m playing it at least…

Business Card Key Points

Here are the things I think are worth noting:

  • The cards look and feel thick, solid, memorable.
  • They are more expensive than the paper business cards I have, but they also may not be tossed away as often.
  • Sarah walked me through the process step-by-step.
  • Nate designed my card with absolutely nothing from me other than “I’m colorful, so have fun with it.”  I LOVE THE DESIGN!
  • The company responded quickly to every question.
  • The design proofs came along in less than a day.
  • The business cards arrived in less than a week.
  • Plasticprinters.com is a family started business.
  • The whole process takes place in Hastings, MN
  • They offer a ton of productsbusiness cards, discount cards, membership and loyalty cards, key tags, invitations, thank you’s and custom shapes galore.

FYI:  I worked at a dead end cubicle job from 2005-2011 for about $30,000 per year.  I went self-employed in July 2011 and make between $70,000-$90,000 through blogging, professional pet sitting, hubby's reffing, and our rental home.  If you’d like to start your own site (link to my free step-by-step guide), I highly suggest checking out Bluehost (my referral link with a nice discount for you, PLUS a free custom header banner from me!).  Please contact me any time at budgetingfunstuff*at*gmail*dot*com with questions or just to brainstorm! I’d love to help!

  1. I am the co-host of a radio show called Because Women are Amazing as well as a blogger-in-process and a freelance writer.
My favorite place to give away business cards is everywhere I go!

  2. My favorite place to give out my business card is to prospective students looking at our grad school. Having a business card as a grad student makes me feel all professional. 🙂

  3. My favorite place to give out my business card is out in public at random places. It’s great to give them out at networking events and conferences, but I love talking to people randomly, getting a conversation going and then finishing the talk with me handing them my card.

  4. My favorite place to give out my business card is at the nail salon. I always chat with the people seated near me and have made some great connections!

  5. I like to give out my cards anywhere I’m out and about. I don’t have a business per se, but I often meet people who want more information on the SCA, or resources for living with visual impairments, or with whom I’d just like to stay in touch. We printed some on the printer at home , but it would be awesome to have some with a professional touch!

Thanks very much for the opportunity!

  6. I enjoy giving out business cards at job fairs and business socials. Thank you for a chance to win! 🙂

  7. I have to different business cards for different things… like, I have $100 bill drop cards I put in bank bags and mail out to potential clients and normal cards I put up on boards and restaurants and shops and hand out to clients.

    Did I win?!! 😉

  8. My favorite place to hand out business cards is at FinCon! I will be looking for new cards after our move next summer, and these are so memorable. Thank you to Plasticprinters for offering this contest!
