Do You Fit Fun Into Your Life? New Challenge!!!

The daily grind can get overwhelming.  An endless list of tasks to check off and only 24 hours in a day.  But when you look back on the last 50 years, are you going to be proud of making sure all of the laundry got done OR will you remember those times you spent with friends and family?  I know way too many people that keep putting off the fun stuff in life, so I have thought up a little challenge for all of us.

The Fit in Some Fun Challenge

Here is your challenge, should you choose to accept it.  You now have two weeks to fit in something fun.  Please comment below with what you are aiming to do and we’ll all meet back here in two weeks to make sure we all won the challenge.  Let’s make some real memories!

Here are “rules” of the challenge:

1.  Anything “fun” counts.  If you have been meaning to take your kids to feed the ducks or have a date night with your significant other, this is your chance.

2.  Try to choose something that you weren’t going to do anyway.  If you have a date night every two weeks anyway, feel free to use this opportunity to fit in something else.

3.  Cost doesn’t matter.  The point of this challenge is to fit in fun.  Your idea of fun could be free or cost hundreds of dollars.  Doesn’t matter.  Just choose a goal and stick to it.  :-)

My Goal

Okay, so I am splurging.  My Fit-in-Some-Fun Goal will be to attend the Board Game Geek Convention (BGG Con) in Dallas, TX next week.  It’s 5 days of pure geekdom.  I am trying to get all of my posts scheduled early and will be attempting to stay on top of my emails while we are staying at a hotel, but my goal is to geek out as much as possible with my husband and our friend, Isabelle.

Mr. BFS and I have been spending like crazy and we’re feeling it.  October was all about closing on our new home and settling in.  November has been more of the same plus a few early Christmas gift purchases online.  BGG Con is going to cost a bit too.  But we are covering all of these costs with the cash on hand we keep from the bowling alley job that Mr. BFS has, and we’ll go on a spending freeze in January as usual.  We always seem to spend a bit more the last quarter of the year…

The ticket to attend BGG Con was $85 per person and the hotel will run another $320 for the 4 nights.  So we are looking at a minimum of $500 plus food.  We are going to try to keep that to less than $150 overall.  I’ll see how we do.  But no matter what, there will be fun.

Your Challenge

So, what do you want to fit in within the next 2 weeks?  Are you having a date night for the first time in a while?  Are you playing a whole evening of hide and seek with your kids?  Or does a movie night in (or out) with your friends sound good?  Please comment below with your goal and we’ll see what we all were able to accomplish in two weeks!
