As I wrote about before, I restarted Weight Watchers Online on April 29, 2013 since I gained back 80% of what I lost in 2011. I know why I gained back a bunch too – I stopped caring. Well, hitting 170.6 pounds again was definitely the kick in the butt to lose it all again.
So I was aiming to weigh 150-ish pounds by the end of July 2013 but fell a bit short. I ended up at 157.2 pounds. Now I am trying for a solid August push in regards to exercise and hopefully that will lead me to continue the weight loss streak.
Weight Watchers Experience
Weight Watchers Points Plus is a system based on receiving a set number of points a day to use on food and they throw in an additional 49 weekly points for everyone to use. You also earn extra food points when you exercise. Most green vegetables and most fruits are point-free on this system and they expect you to eat a bunch for snacks throughout the day.
I don’t buy any special foods or supplements from Weight Watchers. For me, it’s all about budgeting points and eating smaller portions of high point foods.
I receive the bare minimum, 26 points, per day. My habit is to try to stick to those 26 points Sunday through Thursday and use my weekly splurge points for Friday and Saturday.
I did okay but I am finding it harder to stay within my daily points. I almost always lose motivation when I get back down to a size 10. But knowing that I have to tell all of you about it does motivate me all by itself quite a bit, lol.
Here are my weekly points breakdowns (how many I used of what I received):
August 4 – August 10: Received 231, Earned 22 Additional Activity Points. I had 27 leftover points.
Total times I exercised for at least 30 minutes that wasn’t continuous: 5
My main snacks were strawberries and peanut butter and jam fold-overs (one slice of bread).
Starting Weight on April 28, 2013 – 170.6 pounds
Weight as of May 12, 2013 – 166.4 pounds
Weight as of May 26, 2013 – 163.8 pounds
Weight as of June 9, 2013 – 162.6 pounds
Weight as of June 23, 2013 – 159.8 pounds
Weight as of July 7, 2013 – 158.4 pounds
Weight as of July 21, 2013 – 157.2 pounds
Weight as of August 4, 2013 – 157.2 pounds
Weight as of August 11, 2013 – 158 pounds (ummm…maybe muscle or water retention…we’ll see…)
I’m down about 12.6 pounds overall. I’d be worried about the weight gain except I know I feel healthier and my pants are fitting better than ever. I was even able to buy a few size 10′s from the thrift store last weekend (and one size 9!). I started in April 2013 at a size 14. So I’ll keep an eye on it…
For just August, I’ll give weekly updates to keep myself on track. This was supposed to go up on Monday but I had a crazy weekend. Then we’ll see if I can somewhat maintain on the cruise from August 31 through September 5.
