Why Pink is My Favorite Color

Today’s post was inspired by a Yahoo article I saw about Pink and her very sweet gesture recently (explained more below).  It doesn’t really have anything at all to do with personal finance, so feel free to tune in tomorrow for money stuff, lol.  Today is just me bragging on my girl, Pink.

Okay, so I hate to admit it but I’m not really into music…yeah, I know.  Everyone has 1000 songs on their iPods.  Sorry, I have whatever my hubby loads on there for me.  But I do have some general favorites – Queen, Lindsey Stirling, and Pink are on the top of my list.  But let me tell you why Pink is my absolute favorite color…

Great Music

Okay, so I know Pink may not be every person’s cup of tea, but her songs make me want to dance.  Have you heard “Get This Party Started”?  It’s just so bouncy!  Makes me jump up and down and sing (badly).  ;-)   I also can’t keep myself quiet when “So What” pops up on Pandora.  I just belt it out!  Both of these could complete any chick’s work out mix.  Anybody who can make me boogie should get extra credit, lol.

Example of Good Character

I don’t really care for concerts since I’m short and everybody inevitably stands up and blocks my view, but I may visit this site for Pink tickets just to see the spectacle.  Apparently, it’s like a acrobatic performance and rock concert all rolled into one.  Plus, did you hear that Pink stopped her show to make a little girl feel better?  Yep, a little girl was upset by a fight that happened near her group, and Pink noticed her crying.  She stopped the show, chided the fighters, and gave the little girl a cute toy and Rice Krispy treat to make her feel better.  How awesome is that?

I think that we make the famous into role models, so it is important that they are worth imitating.  That said, what’s better than showing that you can be a star and care for others at the same time?  It may be my general optimism, but I think people in general don’t suck.  It’s just nice when stories like this don’t make me wrong.  So thank you, Pink, for being a nice lady.  :-)

Who’s your favorite singer? Or group?

  • I am a big Thousand Foot Krutch fan. Canadian boys, come south. That said, it is refreshing to see celebrities do good things. Unfortunately, the media wont ever recognize these good acts, when so much crap is done by celebrities that suck up all of the available headlines.

  • I am a person who owns no music and just listens to what is on the radio. I have 5 preprogrammed stations in my car and flip constantly.

    Pink is a great artist but purple is my favourite colour.

  • I’m actually going to the Pink concert in Boston next week with my bf. He’s obsessed with her music. It’s so cool that she did that for the upset child in the audience!

  • ODWO

    Jimmy Buffett is my hero. His life and times. New and Old material. Worth $400M and rarely gets any radio play, but has a massive following (Parrotheads) both young and old. ;)

  • Not gonna lie to you, I thought this post would be about breast cancer from the title, haha. I have zero thoughts on Pink, but I do support breast cancer research!

  • Billy Joel! I have seen him about 4 or 5 times in concert over the last 27 years. He is much better in concert compared to his recorded music. It captures the excitement of the moment.

  • I saw that article online and thought that was really cool that she made the fighting women look like idiots. I am a huge Pearl Jam fan and they are really cool about relating to their audience and recognizing kids that are there. I’m not sure why people feel they have to misbehave at concerts, but I’m sure there is always alcohol involved!

  • @Adam, now I need to go look up Thousand Foot Krutch… :-)

    @Jane Savers, lol, teal or bright blue are definitely my actual favorite colors…I just needed a good title. :-D

    @Lisa, cool beans! Have a ton of fun!

    @ODWO, I should have known that. ;-)

    @TB, LOL, I am pro breast cancer research too. :-D

    @krantcents, awesome!

    @Kim, yeah, alcohol and perceived anonymity make people stupid…

  • That’s awesome. I love your website and think it’s great you took the time out to share something personal but also so admirable! Go Pink! Now we have another reason to add her to our favorites list!

  • Interesting points. For me, too many to narrow down!
